Summary

Briarwood Medrehab is located at 355 Briarwood Circle, Building 4, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. We are a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic that provides physical and occupational therapy services, speech and language pathology services, and care coordination for individuals with impairments due to acute and chronic neurological and general rehab conditions. We provide a broad spectrum of care for patients and families requiring limited, one-time therapy services, to those who require complex episodic care.

We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families, and employees.

The Neurological Physical Therapist will provide direct patient care designed to restore and maximize function by utilizing evidence-based treatment interventions and while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Required Qualifications*

Physical Therapist:

  • Master's or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship is necessary

  • Posession of a current Michigan Physical Therapy license, or eligible

  • 1-3 years of multidisciplinary outpatient rehab experience- ideally with some of the follow diagnoses: spinal cord injury, amputee, vestiblar, stroke, MS, CP, gait/balance issues

Graduate Non Certified Patient Care Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in directly related field or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in an adult, neurological therapy setting

  • Experience with any or all of the following diagnoses across the rehabilitation spectrum:

  • Spinal cord injury

  • Amputee

  • Stroke

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Parkinson's Disease

  • Gait/balance problems

  • Chronic pain, pain syndromes

  • Experience working with individuals with vestibular dysfunction

  • Experience using rehabilitative technology including functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycles and Lokomat

  • A strong orthopedic foundation and experience in treating patients with multiple comorbidities.

  • ABPTS specialization including Neurological Clinical Specialist (NCS) or Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) certification

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Recent graduates who have completed their coursework but are awaiting certification are encouraged to apply. We welcome candidates who are in the process of obtaining certification.
