Position Summary
General Responsibilities:
Create, revise and implement policies for care and supervision in a psychiatric crisis unit.
Supervise nurse practitioners and residents.
Engage in teaching, scholarship, and clinical service in the field of psychiatry and behavioral sciences consistent with the department’s needs and the faculty member’s interests.
Participate in select department administrative duties such as serving on UME and/or GME , and/or institutional committees.
Minimum Qualifications
MD degree
Georgia Medical License or ability to obtain one
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Strong interpersonal, clinical and professional skills
Acute Psychiatric Care Administration Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Psychiatry Resident and Nurse Practitioner Supervision Experience

Oversee the provision of care in a mental health crisis unit and create, revise and implement relevant policies.
Serve on department, institutional, and community-based committees
Provide nurse practitioner and resident teaching and supervision
Contribution to scholarly activities
Participation in faculty development programs

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
