Candidates can expect:

• Evening and/or weekend hours

• 10+ hours per week, with potential to increase hours soon

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA

• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living

• Work one-on-one with members to direct them towards their health/wellness goals, as well as programs in the Y that best fit their goals.

• Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members

• Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of fitness and nutrition, as well as fitness or nutrition programs provided through the YMCA

• Maintain and clean equipment according to the Wellness Center Cleaning Schedule, or as requested by supervisor or other management staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Degree or certification in the healthy/wellness industry preferred

• Previous experience in coaching clients in health/wellness goals preferred

Skills

• CPR, First Aid and AED certification and/or experience a plus

• Ability to maintain positive, active and engaging presence in the facility

• Self-motivating and innovative
