We are excited to announce that we are currently hiring Medical Assistants (MA) for our various offices throughout the Western New York area including Buffalo, Williamsville, Orchard Park, West Seneca, and Dunkirk. Essential Duties of a Medical Assistant:

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in the healthcare system. Your primary responsibility is to support patient care management by performing clinical and administrative duties efficiently and effectively. Your essential duties include:

  • Verifying patient information by recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.

  • Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as manual blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and pulse. You will also interview patients regarding the reason for their visit.

  • Conducting chart preparation following the Quality Checklist.

  • Performing point-of-care testing, collecting lab specimens, and preparing them for laboratory analysis.

  • Managing incoming documents and assisting with the completion of necessary forms.

  • Completing prior authorizations for medication and imaging services.

  • Answering phones, routing communication appropriately, scheduling appointments, and documenting patient interactions in the EMR system in a timely manner.

  • Managing the inventory of clinical supplies, stocking exam rooms, and keeping them clean.

  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures in accordance with internal and legal regulations.

  • Assisting with examination and in-office treatment by handing providers instruments and materials.

  • Delivering exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization.

  • Performing other duties assigned by management.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma, Certification for Medical Assistants from an accredited facility preferred.

  • Proven work experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.

  • Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in taking vitals, conducting point-of-care testing, and collecting lab specimens.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize computer programs to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
