Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager Plant Controlling - Solar, the incumbent has as a prime objective to supervise all accounting entries related to the plant and assure that they are in accordance with the GAP rules. This role will organize, control and coordinate the preparation of the annual direct and period cost budget, assure that inventories are accurate and properly valuated. Furthermore, the incumbent prepares the monthly analyses of plant performance and work closely with the plant manager and other plant staff in order to find and apply cost saving measures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of annual budget:The incumbent control and coordinate the preparation of the annual direct and period cost budget as per prescribed schedule. Using the volumes provided by sales department, this role will determine the headcount and energy requirements, calculates the production, support and service costs and assist the Facility Manager in the presentation of the plant budget.

  • Monitor the financial performance of the plant and prepare monthly key reports:This role performs duties including the timely explanations of the monthly financial results and forecast the budget variances for the future periods. The incumbent prepares monthly reports and present them to management and find solutions for cost reduction.

  • Prepare and approve the monthly journal entries:These entries include prepaid expenses, accruals, payroll postings and energy, maintenance and support transfer. He/she provides updated information to headquarters concerning the ARO and lease accounting.

  • Approve accounts payables documents and respond to vendor inquiries:The incumbent reviews and approve the purchase requisitions (SRM module), allocation slips, cheque requests, cash payments and provides timely answers to vendor inquiries.

  • Monitor, update and ensure the accuracy of the inventory accounts: Working with production and supply chain departments, the incumbent monitors the accuracy of the inventory database, report the obsolete and slow-moving items, reviews and identifies solutions for the COGI errors. He/she organizes and conducts physical counts, reconcile the results and post the differences in the accounting system.

  • Review and approve the payroll documents:The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and timing of the payroll postings. This position works closely with payroll clerk and other department supervisors, reviews the payroll documents and calculates the vacation accruals for the hourly employees.

  • Reconciliation of the following general ledger accounts on a monthly basis:

  • - - Inventory accounts (finished goods, package materials and ingredients) - - Accrual and prepaid accounts - - Payroll and fringe accounts - - Accounts payables clearing suspense - - Miscellaneous balance sheet accounts

  • Assist the Plant Manager and Manager Plant Controlling - Solar on ad-hoc requirements:The incumbent may contribute to improve management decision-making by assisting the General Manager and the Sr. Manager Controlling - Solar in the design and implementation of new accounting methods and systems, creating new reports, answering external auditors or management's ad-hoc requirements.
