Job Overview The Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences is searching for a full-time Assistant Professor Educator who will also serve as a Program Director to contribute to the department's teaching, service and research missions. This is a 12-month per year Educator position. The preferred start date is March 2024. The Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences The Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences is one of the academic units in the College of Allied Health Sciences. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Respiratory Therapy, Health Information Management, and Advanced Medical Imaging Technology. The department also has three graduate programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences Leadership, Respiratory Therapy leadership and Health Informatics. The department is in the Health Sciences building located on the UC Academic Health Center. Essential Functions The responsibilities of this position are teaching, service and scholarship to the Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences and College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS). The duties will also include program directorship for the Nuclear Medicine Technology accreditation that includes program administration and assessment, curriculum design, instruction, student evaluation, and academic advisement. The Program Director must also collaboration and coordinate with the clinical coordinator and other faculty teaching in the program. The primary teaching responsibilities include courses in Nuclear medicine anatomy, physiology, and pathology, Radiobiology, Radiation Safety, Nuclear Cardiology, Fusion Imaging, Fundamental Radiopharmacy, fundamental radiation physics, basic patient care skills, general know of other imaging modules, and research methods, but are not limited to, course instruction, course development, participation in student recruitment, retention, and admissions activities, participation in program committee work, including program evaluation and accreditation tasks, and other activities as assigned by Department Chair. Position requirements will be consistent with faculty evaluative criteria and the missions of the University, College, and Department. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in education or a health-related field from a regionally accredited or nationally accredited academic institution. Baccalaureate degree in Medical Imaging. Hold certification and registration in nuclear medicine technology (NMT) from a national certification board. Five or more years full-time clinical experience in nuclear medicine technology experience, and.
