Farm Custodian Job Description:

A Farm/Office custodian plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within a farming facility. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, which contributes to a productive and efficient work environment. Here is a detailed job description for a manufacturing  custodian.

Under the direct supervision of the Reliability Manager, the  Custodian  is responsible for following routine farm tasks according to AeroFarms’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

Responsibilities:  

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas (including the Farm).

  • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly  (including the Farm) .

  • Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring it is free from dirt and debris  (including the Farm .

  • Keep workstations, offices, and hallways clean and organized.

  • Working the Farm cleaning up standing water and other requested needed.

  • Safety Maintenance:

  • Identify and report any safety hazards or potential risks to the appropriate personnel.

  • Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times.

  • Maintain cleanliness in hazardous areas, such as chemical storage areas.

  • Monitor and restock safety supplies, such as gloves, masks, and cleaning agents.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when restocking is required.

  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning supplies used and report any discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply of cleaning materials.

    You Have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred 

  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak basic English (required) 

  • General work experience will be considered in place of manufacturing experience. AeroFarms training provided. 

  • Be able to work in a cold environment (<38F) for long periods.     

  • Availability to work one weekend day: Saturday or Sunday. 

  • Ability to respect and maintain confidential information.  

  • Ability to work within a team environment.  

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up 75lbs.  

      Wage:  $17.00/HR., paid  weekly ( Benefits eligible effective 1st day of employment)

    Shift: Mid-Shift 

    Required:  Must Work four days during the week between Monday ‐ Friday and one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday.
