Description:

This Lab/Engineering Technician will provide hand on support to MPE-Materials Process Engineering team to facilitate & help support engineers in a large development group in several areas.

Responsibilities:

• Examples of work scope would be metallography

• Running equipment and tests

• Operating microscopes, scanning electron microscopes

• Documenting work done in MS word or PowerPoint reports.

• CAD skills are important as the MPE group evaluates what materials will be selected in the design of engine parts.

• The job is a mixture of 60% testing in a lab, analyzing samples, and 40% documentation in Excel.

• Fabricate polymer composites and adhesively bonded test samples

• Perform lab tests and organize and communicate test data and results.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree

• Internship or 6 months plus experience in manufacturing or lab environment

• Familiarity with polymer composites, adhesives and elastomers is preferred.

• Proficient in Excel

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Mechanical aptitude or ability to work with hand-tools
