Stony Brook Medicine (Stony Brook University Hospital) Physician Liaison in East Setauket, New York

Position Summary

The Physician Liaison for the Physician Outreach office will be responsible for a variety of support and coordination of activities as it relates to Physician Outreach. The incumbent is responsible for providing back up administrative support and coordination for all daily activities.

This person will act as a liaison between SB Medicine and community physician practices by visiting office throughout Suffolk County including those on the East End on a regular basis. This person has responsibility for troubleshooting, prioritizing, acting upon and/or reassigning inquiries and/or problems on behalf of the Department. The incumbent will also serve as an administrative coordinator for a variety of projects as it relates to Physician Outreach, including assisting with special events.

Duties of the Physician Liaison for the Physician Outreach office may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Visit community physician practices on throughout Long Island on a quarterly basis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and their practice managers
  • Manages Event Sponsorship for outside organizations which will include weekend and evening attendance.
  • Maintain physician data in HNA pertaining to community physicians.
  • Maintain the physician outreach e-mail database and send email blasts as needed.
  • Responsible for patient connections in the portal that come in by phone and email.
  • Attend, take notes and do follow up for the various committee meetings - such as the liaison committee.
  • Manage event planning
  • Assists with the management of the community physician portal.
  • Facilitate physician to physician meetings as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Selected candidate may need to work on Saturdays/Sundays based on events and the needs of the department.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of sales, marketing, and/or outreach experience or, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree with at least 4 years of healthcare setting experience to include at least 1 year of community outreach and/or event planning experience. Active and current NYS Driver's License. Good interpersonal skills, relationship building skills needed to build solid relationships with physician practices. Trustworthy, honest, team player. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of physician practice network. Physician Liaison experience. Experience with a major hospital system with physician practices.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $57,530 - 67,933 / year.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition, all UUP positions have an additional $3,087
