FirstService Residential Traffic & Safety Manager in El Dorado Hills, California

Job Overview:

The Traffic and Safety Manager manages the security services and related operations provided to Serrano El Dorado Owners Association including client service, service enhancement, operational effectiveness, updating of post orders, security company and CHP contract supervision. Partners with the General Manager and staff leadership in the development of security policies and procedures addressing community access. Managing the security related contracts and day to day operations of gate cameras, radar signs, CHP, and EDSO S.T.A.R. Additional duties may include insurance claim processing for gate collisions, POST Order updates, and POC for related service and industry vendors.

Liaison between security company and the management team of Serrano El Dorado Owners’ Association. Report statistical information on Security calls for service, time patrols, CC&R violations, crime statistics and others as deemed needed. Ensure Service Level Agreement, Performance agreement and Key Performance Indicators are being met or solutions to achieve acceptable levels are being adhered to.Primarily performs exempt duties in a service capacity facilitating the delivery of service according to business expectations. Does not perform Security Officer duties.

Compensation: 75K – 85K a year

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

  • In performing functions, duties or tasks, Associate is required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of the association’s policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Associate is required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
  • All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable client policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, Associate is required to request clarification or explanations from supervisors or authorized company representatives
  • Interpret applicable policies and procedures based on existing circumstances
  • Collaborate with Department team members to accomplish tasks
  • Complete regular monthly reports for General Manager and or Board of Directors
  • Communicate with internal and external partners to promote effectiveness of existing programs
  • Maintain liaison with appropriate vendor personnel on any given shift
  • Assist and coordinate regular training with Security vendor
  • Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the association.
  • Quickly identify potential negative situations and implement effective countermeasures
  • Create appropriate security reports
  • Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prefer two years of Security Management and/or Law Enforcement experience. If Law Enforcement Experience, must have at least six-month experience in Security Management as a salaried employee.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the security, or related field; with a minimum of one (1) year at supervisory or managerial level, preferably with home-owner association experience.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize and implement administrative and operational programs and procedures.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in writing policies and procedures as they relate to security and or traffic related operations, data analysis and reporting.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to be an effective team leader.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
  • Courteous telephone manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree and 3 years of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
  • Knowledge, training, and/or experience in safety, fire protection, emergency preparedness procedures and planning, Security and Safety issues and standards is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements.

  • May be required to use a vehicle for the performance of duties.
  • Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
