Butler Ag Logistics Manager in Fargo, North Dakota

The main objective of the logistics manager is to provide safe, reliable, and cost-efficient movements to support business operations effectively. This involves the acquisition and specification of a wide variety of vehicles and related components. The Logistics Manager will also manage the logistics over a large territory utilizing in-house transportation and 3rd party vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop strategies, implement ideas and recommendations, and take ownership and responsibility for the logistics department and its operation through independent efforts and team collaboration
Field a variety of phone calls from field operations and management to guide and problem solve various issues
Management of outside carrier contracts. Evaluate logistics routes and carrier changes. Reviewing department performance indicators to ensure internal and external customer needs are met.
Review and management of KPI
Completes department, team, and individual meetings to foster team collaboration and individual execution
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures
Manage acquisition and maintenance of company-owned transportation and warehouse assets.
Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties:
Organizes, communicates, and delegates responsibilities and priorities to subordinates to ensure the successful operation of the department.
Provides regular and timely feedback that recognizes employee performance, motivating employees and promoting self-development.
Communicates with and coach’s employees on assignments, providing technical expertise as needed.
Selects, trains, and develops employees consistent with department/division goals, providing coaching on career development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred Business or Accounting or equivalent experience and training
Four years comparable experience preferred. Experience with fleet procurement, transportation management, and/or safety management preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company insurability guidelines
Knowledge of Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations
