Job Summary and Qualifications

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Reporting to the Division Director, the Physician Contract Administrator assists with the oversight of the East Florida Division (EFD) and facilities’ physician contracting process for professional and administrative service agreements. In coordination with the Director, the Contract Administrator obtains appropriate internal approvals, drafts, finalizes and maintains new and existing agreements and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. He or she establishes and maintains relationships between the division contracting department and facility administration, legal counsel, and other relevant parties as needed. The Contract Administrator generates reports and systems for the purposes of tracking the physician contracts inventory and will maintain and ensure the integrity of the Physician Contract Management database for the EFD while ensuring the database system is used to produce all physician agreements within the Division.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the physician contracting process throughout the EFD

  • Establish and maintain database of all physician contracts to which division or facility is a party

  • Establish and maintain a filing system for hard copies of all agreements

  • Coordinate the physician contracting process from pre-approval of concepts through final execution of the agreement. This will include serving as the clearinghouse for all corporate, division or facility staff and departments who wish to enter into a contractual relationship with a physician or physician entity on behalf of a facility or the division

  • Drafting/editing contracts, accuracy of database reporting and maintenance, securing internal approvals of contracting terms, ensuring timely execution of contracts by all parties and compliance with policies and procedures

  • Assess the contracts for the required elements and the required supporting documentation for compliance with policy

  • Interface and communicate with various parties and/or departments including but not limited to, facility administration, department leadership, legal counsel, referral source providers, valuators, accounting and corporate departments

  • When requested by Division Director, educate hospital staff members regarding the contracting process and lead follow-up refresher courses and trainings as necessary

  • Track/update the contract preparation/review process, as needed

  • Ensure the necessary signatures or approvals are obtained on the contract and other required documents in a timely manner

  • Disseminate the contract as necessary to the parties and pertinent internal departments

  • When requested by Division Director, Initiate monthly reviews with facilities to discuss new and current contracts in process as well as contracts that are due for renewal

  • Coordinate the request for and maintenance of independent fair market value reports as required

  • Perform other duties at the direction of Division Director and Division Leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

  • Two or more years of relevant experience required, including legal and/or physician contracting experience.

  • ABA Paralegal Certification (or equivalent) required

  • Excellent communication skills required

  • Prior experience in healthcare or related industry preferred
