Job Description:

The FARMS Veterinary Service Representative will be an integral of member of the service, acting as a point person and liaison for communication with clients and clinicians of the Food Animal Reproduction & Medicine Service (FARMS) as related to the delivery of routine and emergent health care services provided to livestock producers throughout the state. The FARM Service is unique compared to other units in the Large Animal Hospital (LAH) in that it is primarily an ambulatory service and its patients do not usually come to the hospital for their care. FARMS clinicians spend considerable amounts of time offsite providing herd health services to clients at animal production units while teaching students. The Veterinary Service Representative is responsible for facilitating veterinary clients’ needs throughout their interaction with the service including communications, processing paperwork, and handling financial transactions.

Expected Salary:

$17-$20 commiserate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and anatomy.

Knowledge of the equipment and materials used in farm animal ambulatory practice.

Ability to operate a computer and utilize office suite software such as excel

Experience with budgets and scheduling

Demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
