RN Qualifications
Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing BSN-Preferred. New Grads Accepted!
Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
1-year experience working in ICU Moderate sedation competency within 6 months of hire
Demonstrates competence in patient assessment, basic interventions, patient safety, and patient relations. Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire.
Responsibility Summary
The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Registered Nurse in Intensive Care develops specialized skill to care for critically ill unstable patients. The ICU RN develops a strong working knowledge of life support machines, cardiac monitoring systems and other life-preserving medical equipment and nursing interventions essential for a critical care nurse. The ICU RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The ICU Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment.
Salary: $38.37-$43.45
