As an Ancillary Services Technician you will be responsible for the laundry, cleanliness, sanitation and orderliness of all building areas, including but not limited to employee work areas, common public areas and resident homes. Responsible for resident meal times including prepping food, dining room set up and clean up, kitchen clean up and sanitation. Responsibilities:

  • Sweeps, mops, shampoos, vacuums, dusts, tidies and sanitizes all areas of the facility, including, but not limited to common public areas, dining rooms, kitchen areas, laundry rooms, hallways, entrances, lounges, storage rooms, elevators, stairwells, windows, offices and resident rooms and homes. May collect and remove trash and garbage as necessary.

  • May be required to strip, wax and buff floors per schedule. May also be required to operate rug extractor in carpeted areas of buildings.

  • Follows facility policy and procedure regarding, cleaning, laundering, sanitizing and disinfecting in accordance with New York State Department of Health and OSHA regulations.

  • Sorts, organizes, launders, sanitizes, folds and delivers resident clothing and facility linen in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Performs food preparation tasks as assigned by the supervisor and meets set meal times.

  • Washes dishes, cookware, flatware and trays using approved procedures.

  • May be required to assist with snow removal as necessary to facilitate ease of entrance to facility and parking lot.

  • Receives daily work assignment from supervisor at beginning of shift. Will be scheduled to work in dietary or housekeeping department as needed.

  • Reports status of work assignment to supervisor periodically during the course of assigned shift. Interacts with residents, visitors and family members while performing assigned duties.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality of information as it relates to residents, co-workers, and the business of Heritage Ministries.

  • Follows appropriate chain of command within department and facility organizational structure.

  • Responds to housekeeping requests by the various facility departments, residents, visitors and family members in a professional and helpful manner

  • Acts as liaison for facility relations with the general public. Presents a service-oriented philosophy reflecting the ministry of Heritage Ministries and conveys this to staff and residents.

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED/TASC preferred.

  • Ability to follow directions and procedures.

  • Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with staff, residents, vendors, volunteers and public in person and via the telephone.

  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks and assignments.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle stressful situations.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Ability to lift over 60 pounds at various times as necessary. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, squat, twist and engage in repetitive motion for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to meet health assessment requirements, including required testing and health documentation.
