Your Impact at SAM

The Area PMO Leader is a project excellence focused role, that reports to the Area Manager and works in parallel with Area, Location, and other senior leaders to integrate Project Management best practices, monitor project health, mitigate risk, and drive project performance to meet the organization's objectives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Standardization:

  • Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, processes, tools, and templates, that help secure desired outcomes

  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development within the PMO and project teams

Strategic Alignment:

  • Work with Regional and Company PMO leaders to drive company project management initiatives

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure buy-in for project initiatives

  • Collaborate with Department Managers to align project initiatives with strategic objectives

  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions to prioritize projects contributing to long-term business goals

  • Resolve project scheduling, work breakdown structure development, earned value analysis (estimate to complete), and project invoicing as part of the monthly routine for project delivery

Resource Optimization:

  • Optimize utilization of project resources across locations and departments

  • Monitor resource utilization and propose solutions to optimize resource allocation

  • Identify cross-functioning teams for cohesion and efficiency gains

  • Refine project staffing, backlog reporting, work sharing and forecasting

  • Ensure PM compliance with project procedures and tool use

Reporting:

  • Provide support, guidance, and training to enhance project management skills

  • Monitor project performance metrics and provide regular reports to stakeholders

  • Provide regular reports and presentations summarizing Area - key metrics, progress, and challenges

Communication:

  • Communicate updates, decisions, and strategic priorities from leadership to operational teams

  • Consolidate and analyze operational data to provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual status/KPIreports

  • Project risk mitigation and identify troubled projects early and drive the recovery plan both for SAM and to ensure client satisfaction

  • Work with regional PMO especially when help is needed on troubled project or other constraints

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance project management practices and organizational capabilities

  • Work with Area and Local leads as well as department managers and PMs to be project excellence focused, track progress and growth while monitoring key KPI’s

  • Training, mentoring and staff development

  • Help junior staff to move into the PM role and excel in the business side of the business

  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned and best practices to facilitate continuous improvement

What You Bring to SAM

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

  • Experience managing multiple large projects

  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and best practices in project planning, execution, and delivery.

  • Experience in project risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.

  • P.E or L.S license preferred
