Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT, has the following opening for an IT Engineer.

Summary of Duties: Provide development, testing, support services and governance for software life-cycle activities. Ensure ingest of critical application data to enterprise grade log aggregating platforms. Work with Site Resiliency Engineers and Line of Business resources to search, analyze and visualize machine-generated data gathered from websites, applications, sensors, and devices which support IT infrastructures and business platforms. Follow implementation of standards and best practices in alignment with our architecture patterns. Build knowledge/expertise around understanding performance thresholds and tuning configurations for supported tools and provide consulting to application areas on constrained design practices. Collect learnings through implementatations and translate into best-practices. Document to establish group-level policies and standards. Adhere to Application Engineering as well as corporate standards, processes, and policies. Participate in problem management discussions through employment of analytical methodology/structure and engaging appropriate resources on a timely basis. Realize outstanding IT Performance Management results for CIO applications and supporting technology services. Telecommuting available.

Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Management, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering; plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or alternate occupation of: Software Developer (all levels), Software Engineer (all levels), Software Development Engineer, System(s) Engineer, Application Systems Engineer, Security Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer, Engineer, Computer Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, Programmer Analyst, IT Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Web Application Developer, Web Application Programmer, Member of Technical Staff, Technical Lead, Project Lead, Consultant, Associate Consultant, Research Assistant, Intern. In addition, position requires 3 years of experience in the following skills: Splunk Administration; JavaScript; Python; PowerShell. Telecommuting available.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $130,080.00 per YEAR

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$120,000 to $130,080.
