With this expansion, comes a necessity to broaden the agency’s information technology footprint, and its security requirements, to meet this opportunity. With these considerations in mind, the agency recognizes the need to add a position rooted in IT security principles to ensure customers of The Montana Lottery can participate in our expanding gaming options with full confidence the systems that support their experience are fully secure from tampering of any kind. The Montana Lottery is seeking an individual with an IT security background, preferably technical cyber-security, to serve as the agency’s Information Security Officer reporting to the Director and Head of Security under the supervision of the department’s IT Director. In this capacity, you will generally be responsible for: · Participate in the development of security risk management plans; · Identify compromises to Lottery’s IT infrastructure; and · Adapt the business to the rapidly changing landscape of IT threats and vulnerabilities. · Monitor Lottery information systems for gaming integrity. What are we looking for?__ Minimum Education and Experience: // * Two-year degree related to an IT discipline; AND * 3 years’ experience in a technical security-related role; OR * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a CAP, CISSP, SSCP certification(s) or GIAC certificates and coursework. Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ * Network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts; * Information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls; * The principles, practices, theories and concepts of information security related to network, workstations, servers, and applications; * Risk assessment methods and technologies; /Ability to:/ * Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; * Support the development of security plans, procedures, and contribute to policy development; * Utilize security scanning tools to identify vulnerabilities, analyze results, and make recommendations to mitigate risks; * Comprehensively document IT inventories for the agency; * Train agency management in best-practice security protocols * To stay abreast of ever-evolving security threats and the techniques utilized to counter them. * * Only online applications are accepted.
