Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Massage Therapist in Kingston, Washington

*Job Summary: *Massage Therapist will consult with patients that have been referred by PGST Health Providers screen them for underlying conditions and assist with selecting appropriate the types of messages that would benefit them the most.

[Duties Include]{.underline}:

  • Provide 30- to 50-minute therapeutic massages
  • Guide clients through our service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most
  • Take detailed histories from clients, including information about any injuries or conditions, such as diabetes
  • Design sessions around clients specific complaints or problem areas
  • Listen to clients during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs
  • Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions
  • Keeping linens clean and tidy, and replacing them between sessions.
  • Sterilizing equipment, maintain appropriate stock for items needed.
  • Ensure a clean, safe and well-organized treatment room.
  • Accompanying guests to and from treatment rooms.

[Qualifications]{.underline}:

  • Current and valid state license for massage therapy
  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and compassionate manner, maintain confidentiality, and work well as a member of a team.
  • Massage therapists need to listen carefully to clients in order to understand what they want to achieve through massage sessions.
  • Massage therapists must evaluate each clients needs and recommend the best treatment on the basis of that persons needs.
  • Massage therapists must give clients a positive experience, which requires building trust between therapist and client. Making clients feel comfortable is necessary for therapists to expand their client base.
  • Massage therapists may give several treatments during a workday and have to stay on their feet throughout massage appointments.
  • Massage therapists must be strong and able to exert pressure through a variety of movements of the arms and hands when manipulating a clients muscles.
  • Occasionally required to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Regularly required to finger, handle, reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to walk, sit, stand
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Normal audio and visual acuity

[Travel Requirements:]{.underline}

  • Local, Statewide and out of state travel may be required.
