Overview Utah State University seeks a highly collaborative, self-motivated, and experienced professional to provide innovative and strategic leadership to the Inclusion Center at the main campus in Logan. Job responsibilities will include taking the lead in executing a holistic student-centered mission that promotes the academic, personal growth, professional development, and social experiences of undergraduate students. Other responsibilities will include supervision of staff and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities Operations Management - 55%

  • Manage and provide guidance on the day-to-day operations including distribution of duties to professional staff, student employees, peer mentors and interns.
  • Onboard professional staff and educate on various center operations as needed.
  • Supervise all professional staff including reviewing annual goals, work-plans, and assessment protocols; conduct timely coaching and performance management sessions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across campus to create, implement and monitor programs designed to ensure a sense of belonging for all students; programs and services that promote student development and learning based on current higher education research particularly as they relate to access and equal opportunity.
  • Actively contribute and participate in related campus wide learning initiatives, meetings, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Elevate centers' visibility by ensuring timely communication to campus partners, engagement and participation in university events that endeavor to improve access, opportunity, retention, and educational attainment.
  • Establish effective and innovative education and learning opportunities for peer mentoring and support, conflict resolution, and appropriate referral systems that support students' wellness.
  • Develop data driven student engagement and involvement processes that provide insight into students' progress, level of satisfaction, and general support to minimize attrition.
  • Maintain a departmental handbook on policies, and procedures in alignment with USU policies; review and evaluate areas of opportunities and communicate challenges to the supervisor.
  • Review and evaluate areas of programmatic growth and potential grants for the center. Budget and Reporting - 20%

  • Create and submit annual budget requests.

  • Review monthly financial reports and communicate, and or assist in resolving any errors or discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Services to incorporate policies and procedures of financial transparency and accountability in accordance with departmental and university policies.
  • Review and pre-authorize purchase requests, travel, leave, contractual agreements etc.
  • Compose and distribute monthly reports to the supervisor.
