SCOPE - The SEC analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of consolidated reporting for a publicly traded accelerated filer, assisting with external audit, and maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers. Required to meet project deadlines, comply with company policies and procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES
Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules for reporting to investors and Securities Exchange Commission, or SEC
Prepare and post monthly consolidation entries for financial reporting
Assist with quarterly communications sent to investors
Communicate with external auditors regarding variance analysis and other inquiries as necessary
Assist with the monthly financial close procedures
Ensure financial results are accurately represented and in conformance with US GAAP
Assist in preparation of budgets and analyzing budget to actual results
Analyzing, researching, and explaining variances to plan
Assist with generating and maintaining appropriate backup for auditor review and 404 compliance
Assist in footnote preparation for quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K SEC filings
Prepare documentation in support of quarterly reviews and year-end audits
Perform special accounting projects, as assigned

Competencies of the ideal candidate
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or requirements met for certification preferred
2 years of accounting/financial reporting experience - experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Experience with SEC filings preferred
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Good command of the English language in both verbal and written skills
Self-motivated, independent and proactive worker with a high level of organization, professionalism and attention to detail
Good knowledge of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting application issues
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically strong Microsoft excel and Word skills
Solid written, verbal, communication, and analytical skills a must
Familiarity and willingness to work in a deadline-oriented, fast paced team environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Extended time in sitting position, prolong use of computer and possible eye strain.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
