Advanced Systems Design Applications Development Analyst - 2181 in Montgomery, Alabama

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Applications Development Analyst for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

  • This is fully functional medium to complex professional application development and systems analysis work.

  • Employees in this class are responsible for independently analyzing and evaluating complex existing applications and designing and developing new or enhanced applications to support end-user needs.

  • Incumbents are expected to work directly with users to define application requirements and needs to determine the most appropriate solution while being proficient in one or more programming languages, with work involving moderate to difficult complexity.

  • Works with the DevOps team to develop and maintain applications, source code, and projects.

  • Works with ADECA personnel, divisions, and contractors to develop custom and complex application solutions.

  • Practices a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with distinct phases.

  • Provides break/fix support including troubleshooting, bug fixes, and assisting other IT teams.

  • Performs unit testing and debugging.

  • Operates as a Support Desk agent to receive and resolve issues and requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Applications Development and Support (e.g., computer programming utilizing high-level languages to manipulate databases or files and produce outputs and reports).

  • Proficiency as an application developer in a DevOps team.

  • Proficiency with analysis, design, build, test, and release process tasks.

  • Proficiency in maintaining a solution repository and code source.

  • Proficiency in maintaining systems and end-user documentation.

  • Focused on customer satisfaction.

  • Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g., HTML, C#, .NET, and common scripting languages).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft, SQL, database table design, and SSIS (integration services).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Applications Development and Support. 

  • Highly self-motivated and self-starter.

  • Familiar with source code management, Git and/or Azure DevOps.

  • Familiar with continuous improvement and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.

  • Experience with service desk and IT service management processes.

  • Experience with Visual Studio.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Salesforce, APIs and cloud provider services.

  • Experience with low-code website development, like WordPress and SharePoint.

Education Required:

  • Two-year degree (AS/AA) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, or a related field, including 2 courses in programming.

    • Additional education and/or experience above that which is minimally required, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. For example: • 4 years of experience with 0 years of education would satisfy the minimum requirements. • 4 years of education with 0 years of experience would satisfy the minimum requirements.
Education Preferred:

  • Four (4) year degree in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, or a related field.
