The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has an opening for a Printed Circuit Board Designer II or III. Applicant should have a desire to work in the EDA software environment, assisting engineers in design and manufacture of leading-edge printed circuit board designs. Candidate must work well as a team member, work independently with minimal supervision, and possess good communications skills.
Major Responsibilities:
Work with Electrical and Mechanical engineers in the development of leading-edge technology printed circuit board designs for use in the development and fabrication of high reliability electronics hardware.
Work in all phases of hardware development from PCB design, board fabrication and assembly.
Become familiar with IPC and military grade PCB design and fabrication standards/requirements and assure that designs comply with said requirements
Minimum requirements:
Experience with PCB design EDA software and basic schematic entry
Must have a strong working knowledge of electronic components and their basic functions
Experience in electronic system technology, troubleshooting and ability to follow and understand a schematic
Must have a minimum of an Associate’s degree plus 8 years of applicable electronics experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of applicable electronics experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
Experience with Altium EDA software tools a plus. Experience in multi-layer board design, impedance-controlled routing, RF system layout, and thermal design considerations a plus. Candidate must be willing to travel and be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance in the future if needed.
