Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.

  • 1 year manufacturing experience.

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Requires use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, measuring tape, calipers, etc)

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning baths

  • Proficient in use of basic computer applications

  • Basing understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation

  • Understanding of basic math principles (some conversions to decimal system may be used)

  • Participate in and support team initiatives.

  • Receive guidance from higher level employees.

  • Cross-train with other employees

  • Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.

  • Possess ability to evaluate types of material: size, shape, and conditions of pieces to be plated and cleaned.

  • Uses plating baths to pickle and passivate

  • Assist in cleaning acid baths and helps to mix new bath solution

  • Assist in inspection of passivation analysis

  • Possess understanding of plating room processes and proper workflow

  • Responsible for and be familiar with cleaning and passivating parts

  • Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach

  • Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.

  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues

  • Assist with cleaning and passivation of proto-type or first-time builds.

  • Assist engineering and/or Team in development and improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance

  • Keep equipment in operation by making timely adjustments

  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products

  • Must be comfortable working with and around chemicals (ie cyanide, hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, chromate, etc)

  • Must be FAA certified

  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures

  • All Other duties as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • 1-3 years manufacturing experience.

  • Prior experience working with acids and bases, and understanding of basic chemical safety

  • Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment

  • Past experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.

  • Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.

  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.

  • Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.

The pay for this position is $19/hour. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 6/28/2024.
