We are seeking a Marketing professional to join the team at our Barnes & Noble College retail store located at the University of Notre Dame.This key role serves as a vital link between our company and the university, driving the marketing strategies for the campus bookstore. Responsibilities include crafting and managing content across various channels, such as email, mobile apps, social media, e-commerce, and coordinating events. The role demands regular communication with partners, overseeing project timelines, meeting deadlines, addressing challenges to ensure campaigns launch as expected, and assessing their impact. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for generating performance reports and updating partners, guaranteeing the efficacy of our localized marketing initiatives.

Note: While the internal title for this position is Department Manager, the role is functionally equivalent to that of a Marketing Coordinator.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • In coordination with the store, merchandise and consumer marketing team, manage University of Notre Dame Bookstore localized integrated marketing campaigns (both in-store & online marketing) serving as the direct point of contact to University of Notre Dame Administration, University of Notre Dame Bookstore, and Barnes & Noble College Marketing Team.

  • Collaborate with the university and bookstore teams to drive the content strategy and ensure that it aligns with university branding guidelines

  • Oversee partner objectives, manage expectations, and ensure project timelines are met. Proactively communicate any changes or new directions to all stakeholders, including university partners and both internal and external teams.

  • Work integrally with key internal and external team stakeholders to facilitate the process of developing, executing, and recapping successful marketing programs.

  • Engage in strategic planning with the Barnes & Noble College Merchandising & Marketing Teams and Fanatics Merchandising & Marketing Teams to identify marketing opportunities, coordinate campaigns, and analyze performance metrics for continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate with the Manager, Partner Success, to oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and efficient management of expenses.

  • Continually seek innovative and more efficient work processes, challenging conventional practices and advocating for improvements to enhance our marketing effectiveness.

  • Fulfill additional duties and take on new challenges as the role evolves and as business needs change.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field.

  • Two to three years of experience in marketing, including direct involvement in event planning, social media management, and marketing campaign development and execution

  • Industry experience serving clients with a proactive, responsive, and client-centric mindset. Ability to understand and anticipate client needs and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a proven ability to think ahead, tackle multiple projects simultaneously, and efficiently manage priorities.

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, including interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and innovatively, with a creative approach to solving problems and developing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • This is a full-time, onsite position

  • Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time to local client meetings and campus events.

The hiring rate for this position is $20.00 - 24.00 / hour. The actual pay may vary based on a number of factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, competencies, etc.
