Job Summary:

AIS is looking for a Graphic Designer II to work in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Graphic Designer II will produce timely designs to illustrate and illuminate communications materials for distribution to the US Department of Energy (DOE) and both general and targeted audiences. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works proficiently in software programs including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Works closely with leadership and internal customers to apply graphics expertise to produce timely and visually-effective communications tools for distribution to internal and external stakeholders including co- workers and peers, industry, academia, government sponsors and the public at large.

  • Participates in planning for and production of significant deliverables, such as annual reports, brochures, digital signage, posters, infographics, presentations, R&D achievement sheets and collateral for high-profile visits.

  • Prioritizes requests, coordinates and schedules workflow and facilitates production with printer or other vendors to meet tight, demanding deadlines and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Ensures compliance with environment, safety, health, and quality program requirements.

  • Maintains a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics.

  • Follows internal review processes to ensure highest quality products.

  • Engages with team members in all areas of the communications process and contribute to the overall mission.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, or related field with a minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience.

  • Have excellent attention to detail.

  • The ability to understand, follow, and implement complex instructions.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the flexibility to handle multiple assignments for multiple customers simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work both independently and with all levels of researchers and staff in a team-based environment.

  • Strong skills in solving problems and developing and implementing solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in multi-page layout and design.

  • Experience in animation and/or 2D/3D modeling a plus.
