THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a part-time Clerk Typist 2, you will help our team serve and protect the elderly members of our community through a variety of responsibilities.

  • Greet and assist walk-in visitors

  • Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls, take messages, and direct call to appropriate staff

  • Ensure outgoing and incoming mail is processed daily

  • Provide secretarial services in cases where shorthand skills are not required

  • Type letters, reports, contracts, agendas, and similar documents

  • Proofread varying types of materials to ensure that information is grammatically correct, complete, consistent, and adhering to agency regulations and policies

  • Organize, type, format, and create layouts for newsletters, brochures, social media outlets, and other materials.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment

  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade;or

  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course;or

  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
