Neshoba County General Hospital-Nursing Home Physical Therapist - PRN in Philadelphia, Mississippi

Neshoba General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide and direct physical therapy services to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric individuals. The goal is to help patients reach their maximum performance potential within a medical model of practice.

Education:

  • MS/DPT in Physical Therapy or BS with equivalent work experience.
  • Successful completion of State Certification Examination for Physical Therapy.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  • Must maintain valid state Physical Therapy licensure.

Performance Expectations:

  • Provides physical therapy services to patients and initiates referrals when appropriate, following Physical Therapy Department Procedures.
  • Conducts screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine the need for interventions/treatment.
  • Evaluates residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation, including specialized evaluations as indicated.
  • Obtains appropriate physicians' orders/documentation for treatment.
  • Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, families, and other team members.
  • Develops a treatment plan with short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
  • Coordinates, implements, and conducts treatment plans with patients, families, and other team members.
  • Monitors patients' response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with the plan and physician orders.
  • Develops appropriate home or community-based programming to maintain and enhance patient performance in their environment.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state Physical Therapy licensure.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of physical therapy techniques and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of patients and the healthcare team.
