The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN, location in the Electrophysiology (EP) division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Main Purpose of Role

In this role, you will perform routine Preventive Maintenance on Production / Facilities equipment, including but not limited to work involving the execution of more than one of the typical maintenance trades, electrical, plumbing & general mechanical work with an emphasis on hydraulics (molding presses). Additionally, troubleshooting and repairing of line-down equipment.

What You’ll Work On

  • Conducts schedule maintenance and unscheduled maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting faults and undertaking repairs, selecting and working with outside contractors

  • Performs routine maintenance, maintain records and repair services of manufacturing equipment such as mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems as dictated by the schedule or requested by supervisor

  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics

  • Tracks inventory of spare parts and materials and provides Supervisor with the information necessary to secure needed replacement parts or special materials needed to effect proper repairs on all equipment.

  • Functions as a key member of the production & maintenance team

Shift

Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • 5+ years’ of related experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate as a Electro-Mechanical Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician or a Technical Degree in Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Automotive Repair, Hydraulics or related technical field.

  • Prior experience as an electromechanical/molding maintenance technician, experience with automation in the medical field.

  • 5+ years of diverse experience in high volume production setting

  • Familiarity with formal preventative maintenance program

  • Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining buildings and facility equipment

  • Experience working in a company operating under ISO, FDA, or similar quality systems or regulations

  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.

  • Familiarity with formal preventative maintenance program.

The base pay for this position is $23.25 – $46.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
