Job Summary: The Academic Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Adolescent Physician Specialist to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to adolescents, including preventive services, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of adolescent patients.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care for adolescents.

  • Educate patients and their families about adolescent health issues, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Participate in research activities, including clinical trials and scholarly projects, to advance knowledge in the field of adolescent medicine.

  • Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through didactic lectures, mentorship, and supervision.

  • Stay current with advancements in adolescent medicine by attending conferences, seminars, and continuing medical education programs.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of adolescent healthcare services.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of clinical care, education, and research.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.

  • Board certification or eligibility in Adolescent Medicine.

  • Active medical license and DEA registration.

  • Completion of residency training in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics.

  • Fellowship training in Adolescent Medicine from an accredited program.

  • Proven experience providing clinical care to adolescent patients.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with adolescents and their families.

  • Commitment to academic excellence and scholarly activities, including research and teaching.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Dedication to upholding ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges faced by adolescents from diverse backgrounds.

Job Summary:

Diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for obtaining call coverage by other medical staff members for holidays, vacations and other time off.

  • Responsible for the standard of practice for patient population.

  • Responsibility for maintaining a private office and all clinical decision making within the office during times of service.

  • Acts as an advisor and consultant in the establishment of operational policies of the practice to include: (1) Purchasing and capital allocations; (2) Managed care plan participation; (3) Budget and practice expenses; (4) Medicare/Medicaid participation; (5) Billing and collection of professional fees; (6) Personnel management and related policies; (7) Risk management and quality assurance; and (8) Coding compliance.

  • Responsible for after-hours call coverage for patients of the practice, in addition to office appointments.

  • Participates in community service activities, including speaking engagements, writing and special clinical programs as reasonably requested.

  • Responsible for all risk management, coding compliance and quality assurance activities and functions in and related to the practice.

  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.

  • Constant standing and walking.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.

  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Occasional driving.

  • Rare crawling and running.
