What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be a part of a fast-paced, integrated, and interactive research group exploring therapeutics for inflammatory diseases.

  • Lead, mentor and direct a team of scientists and researchers to design and build appropriate in vivo models to test and validate biological pathways and targets in a variety of inflammation-related systems.

  • Establish a robust in vivo model portfolio to help translate newly identified pathways and targets into clinical programs within the inflammation therapeutic area.

  • Work closely with target discovery scientists to support the development of therapeutics for autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases. Provide expert scientific guidance and direction in the execution of high-quality and cutting-edge experiments and ensure alignment with Departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the field of inflammation and in vivo pharmacology, including new technologies and modalities, and incorporate them into novel model systems to understand mechanism of action (MOA) of biological pathways. Where necessary, develop and implement innovative and robust methodologies, protocols, and analytical tools to advance projects.

  • Direct and supervise data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of in vivo pharmacology results with effective communication;

  • Relay the scientific vision, strategy, and results of the in vivo pharmacology group to various internal and external stakeholders, such as senior leadership and conference attendees.

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for in vivo pharmacology, to support the growth and future of the in vivo pharmacology department; facilitate and make informed decisions on external collaborations with academic and groups and CRO’s to support the capabilities of the in vivo pharmacology group.

  • Ensure compliance with the ethical, regulatory, and quality standards and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree PhD OR PharmD OR MD and relevant post-doc where applicable and 5 years of drug discovery experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 8 years of drug discovery experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of drug discovery experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, pharmacology or related field.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology industry or academia.

  • Proven track record of leading and managing successful and impactful projects.

  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the field of Inflammation, Immunology and in vio modeling of pathways and diseases.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead others and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Highly motivated, creative, and passionate about science and innovation.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
