Salary: $23.95 - $39.89 /hr DoE

Responsibilities

Determines sequence of operations and services computers and electronic equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and checking out various types of electronic equipment, including equipment used in units and systems.

  • Works from schematic drawings, blueprints, commercial handbooks, special engineering specifications, and oral and written instructions which require interpretation.

  • Determines sequence of operations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make major repairs to various types of electronic equipment used to check out systems, units or components where standard troubleshooting techniques usually are sufficient to solve problems encountered. Calibrates, aligns, and repairs instruments as required.

  • Calibrates, troubleshoots, and tests developmental equipment. Improvises hook-up and equipment modifications as necessary. Resolves problems as they occur until design specifications and performance requirements are verified. Responsible for solution of both electronic and mechanical problems.

  • May provide assistance to personnel in lower related job classifications.

  • Performs rework of the same nature and level of difficulty as described.

  • Provides instruction, familiarization and guidance in job functions or tasks to other employees as needed, regardless of their classification or labor grade.

  • May be required to move parts, materials and products throughout the facility in the course of efficiently performing assembly, fabrication, inspection, testing or documentation tasks..

  • Perform preventive maintenance, checks and services on power supplies, RF equipment and other related items.

  • Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.

  • May use hand and power tools and equipment, as necessary, to perform above duties.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of related electronics technical experience that includes knowledge of electronic test equipment and procedures, and working knowledge of specialized test equipment.

  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory.

  • Demonstrated skill in the use of basic volt meters, o-scopes and power meters.

  • Must be capable of safely work around high voltage over 600v through 60Kv; previous experience working with high voltage is a plus.

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds

  • Requires the ability to pass J-STD solder certification.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed.

  • Requires the ability to work in a fast-moving environment and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

  • A relevant associate’s degree, comprehensive electronics training in a military or civilian technical school, or equivalent additional electronics lab or test operations experience is preferred.
