ABOUT OUR HOSPICE TEAM | GOODWIN HOSPICE

Help us grow our team of seasoned hospice professionals! Goodwin Hospice, a service line of Goodwin Living, is a CHAP-accredited team that provides high professional standards in end-of-life care. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Goodwin Hospice team is seeking candidates to work as a Director of Clinical Services to support a team covering the Northern Virginia area within the beltway. Work with seasoned hospice professionals in caring for patients and families in their community and facility homes at the end of life. This position provides key clinical oversight and resource for all hospice staff in the provision of evidence-based patient centered hospice care planning and execution. The Director provides operational leadership for all hospice services and proactively identifies opportunities to improve the patient and family experience of care. Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, organizational policies and procedures and clinical standards of care.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides leadership, supervises, and is responsible for ensuring the Hospice philosophy is maintained and consistent with corporate policy.

• Monitors and actively solicits feedback from patients and staff regarding delivery of the highest quality services. Responsible for ensuring quality care and clinical standards are met and sustained.

• Collaborates with Administrator and QAPI leadership to identify and support quality and compliance opportunities in the Hospice program.

• Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical staff.

• Provides guidance and counseling to Clinical Supervisors and all staff to assist them in continually improving all aspects of hospice care services.

• Provides care, consultation, and education according to professional practice standards, policies, procedures, clinical pathways, protocols and guidelines, the Nurse Practice Act, Conditions of Participation, and Federal and State regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. A registered nurse who is currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professionals and who has at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospice setting. Minimum 5 years of experience as a professional nurse, preferably in an acute care or hospice care setting.

    1. Certified Hospice and Palliative Care, preferred.

    2. Demonstrated leadership and organizational ability with a motivation to assist in the implementation of program development.

    3. Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of terminally ill residents and families in varied settings.

    4. Demonstrated skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles.

    5. Demonstrated computer skills for documents, spreadsheets and database management and ability to learn new electronic medical record software and become a trainer. health record documentations.
