We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Shop Safety Professional to join our team in the steel fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety within our fabrication facility, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs.

Position Summary:

* *Responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace. Must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards; be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs; ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Mentor, train, and consult with shop personnel, shop personnel to insure adherence to SME safety standards and compliance with OSHA standards.

·         Develop and enforce OSHA policies (e.g., accident reporting process)

·         Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting active worksites with shop safety representatives.

·         Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes. 

·         Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.

·         Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.

·         Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.

·         Organize and conduct OSHA training plans.

·         Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.

·         Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.

·         Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSHA matters.

·         Other duties as assigned.

·         Proven experience as safety leader

·         Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines

·         Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies.

·         Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

·         Excellent organizational and motivational skills

·         Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability

·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

·         Valid qualification in occupational health and safety

·         BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.

·         Certified Safety Professional a plus

·         Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking a must.
