Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

Job Summary:We’re seeking a motivated individual with outstanding analytical and communication skills and a track record of success in offering solutions to critical issues to take on the role of Sustaining Engineering Lead for the Deployment, Fielding, and Sustainment IPT. In this role, you’ll provide meaningful field and office support to the AN/TPY-2 program Hardware and Software Cross Product and Integrated Product Leadership teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and execution of the Post DD250 activities at sites including White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) and OCONUS and will include System Integration and Checkout (SICO) events as well as testing the operational functionality of system hardware and software in a tactical environment.

  • In addition to supporting new production activities, you will support modernization efforts including technology refreshes, software updates and hardware upgrades.

  • Leading the FMS Sustaining Engineering efforts to ensure tasks are being completed on-schedule and within budget as well as robust plans, procedures, and tools are in place

  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple contracts

  • Assessing system performance and supportability and recommending improvements to increase technical capability, maintainability and sustainability.

  • Participating in proposal and earned value activities including risk and opportunity management

  • Assisting in long term strategies for the product line sustainment initiatives

This job can be based at either the Raytheon facility in Woburn, MA or Huntsville, AL.

This position is designated as HYBRID. Commuting costs to and from either the Woburn, MA or Huntsville home base facility are the responsibility of the incumbent.

International and Domestic Travel is required – approximately 10% International and 10% Domestic.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience operating, maintaining and/or troubleshooting DoD, manufacturing or industrial equipment

  • Experience operating, maintaining, testing and/or integrating industrial or military/DoD equipment

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of general radar operation including procedures and tools.

  • Experience in logistics management (or specialized coursework in this domain).

  • Experience supporting military/DOD programs

  • Experience operating, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting the AN/TPY-2 radar or similar radar systems.

  • Experience in sustaining engineering of complex systems of systems with large numbers of COTS products and customer configuration items, including familiarity with industry standards

  • Prior experience in a technical leadership role on a radar development or radar sustainment program

  • Understanding and respectful of foreign cultures and customs.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
