Bilingual-Sr Materials /Planning Specialist

Note: * Must be Bilingual in Japanese and English (Required)*

Essential Job Functions

  • You will be the main point of contact with the BAW Fab in Japan with regards to schedule, wafer planning, and Material status updates. Aspiring Material Specialist must have excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and familiarity with computer and materials management software, such as SAP.

  • The Sr Materials specialist will be responsible for Inventory control and management. You may also be responsible for tracking inventory trends, discovering ways to save money, and maintaining consistency in material quality.

  • You will use software systems to design material and supply movement plans for companies. Predict and track customer product demand and develop productivity improvement proposals.

  • You will work to streamline the New Product Introduction for the business unit. This professional will also oversee the acquisition, distribution, allocation, delivery, and resource disposal of materials. She/he will keep stakeholders communicated on material status across the BU.

  • Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.

  • Analyze and coordinate logistical functions related to the organization’s assigned product(s).

  • Plan, organize, and execute logistics support activities such as maintenance planning, repair analysis, and test equipment recommendations.

  • Assign locations to build customer samples.

  • Follow up on purchase requests with buyers.

  • Manage various databases

Required Skill

  • Ability to read and write using the Japanese Writing System (kana and kanji)

  • Strong understanding of cultural norms & customs of the U.S. and Japan

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or Supply Chain Management) with four years of experience or equivalent.

  • Able to develop strong working relationships with Suppliers.

  • Understanding Semiconductor Processing is a Plus.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

    The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
